The coin's outer ring depicts the 12 stars of the European flag.
The edge-lettering of the 2-euro coin is: “БОЖЕ ПАЗИ БЪЛГАРИЯ” (“GOD PROTECT BULGARIA”) written twice, both normally and in reverse.
